Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car maker, is all set to break the cover of its new subcompact SUV Vitara Brezza in India at the Auto Expo 2016. Ahead of its premier at the auto show, the company has put up the microsite for its new SUV, almost confirming that the Vitara will be sold through regular dealers.
Not much is revealed through the official website for the Vitara Brezza. Maruti Suzuki only confirms that the compact SUV will be launching in the country very soon. Interested buyers can share their details after which launch and booking details will be shared as and when possible. Under the hood of Vitara Brezza will be a 1.2-litre petrol and an optional 1.3-litre diesel engine.
Both engines are the same that do duty in the current Swift hatchback model. Maruti Suzuki will initially be offering only manual gearbox and AMT could be introduced at a later stage. Vitara Brezza by Maruti Suzuki will be a sub 4-metre compact SUV for the Indian market. The Vitara Brezza will compete with the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV3OO and the soon to be launched Tata Nexon.
From a visual stand point, Vitara Brezza is expected to get large honeycomb grille on the front with projector headlight and integrated LED DRLs along with square wheel-arches and high shoulder-line of the model. The compact SUV will ride on 5-dual-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels and is likely to get all black interiors with silver accents. As for features, the new Vitara Brezza is expected to pack multi-functioning steering wheel, SmartPlay touchscreen entertainment system, automatic climate control, key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).
Regarding the under the hood treatment, Maruti Vitara Brezza is expected to house 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. From the word around internet, Vitara Brezza is likely to be priced in Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.2 lakh brackets.
